I'm testing and trying to see past the metro start page.

Since almost forever I've tested beta OS, but this one was not usable till I found why it was locking up.

If its horrible like Windows ME, Vista, then I can see not using it, but if the main issues can be avoided, then I'd probably use it. Could probably use something like Rocket dock, or something else on the Desktop view to reduce the times you even need to see the fruity start page.

Yes i also do think that it's startup and shutdown is really fast and thats the only pros of it

I've found another really big con that made me stop using it yesterday.. The synergy between Apps and Desktop applications is horrible, I tried out the chrome dev version that works as an App, and switching between things just got weird.

I also had a page setup with Mail and Metro Twit, and most of the time I switched to it, it wouldn't show both apps. I think because I was using Alt-Tab because Windows-tab don't work for me (using gaming keyboard with left Windows key disabled forever).

I'll try it again when its closer to release and see.

Im surprised, I went on google to see if anyone else is having this issue and the way you describe the problem your having is very similar to mine. Im using build 9200. and seeing that this thread was made 3 months ago, you were likely using the preview from Microsoft or some beta client.
Anyways maybe we will see a fix in a near build seeing release is soon enough.
here is my hardware
