Fan controller for a Fractal case?

Thread Starter
I have a R3 Silver arrow and I am looking for a fan controller to replace mine that burnt up.

It needs to be very stout and it also needs to be low profile. The front door on the case has a foam backing that will contact knobs on fan controllers so I am thinking I need one with sliders on it or one that is digitally controlled somehow.

Any ideas?

I am currently looking at either a Bitfenix Hydra Pro 5 or a NZXT Sentry MIX.

Anyone got any other suggestions?

I will also be purchasing some new fans. Are gentle typhoons still the balls when it comes to performance vs. noise or is there some other fan I should look at.

I'm running an R2 (just older version of yours) using Thermalright TY-140 and Akasa FN053 fans. 2x FN053 in front, 1x TY-140 bottom and 1x FN053 back. Phanteks cooler has 3x TY-140 fans with exhaust out top. Cooler is ducted to top vent... top vent open but no fans. Fans are all PWM and PWM controlled by motherboard (Gigabyte mobo and Gigabye Easy Tune 6). ET6 is set 20% fan @ 30c and 100% fan @ 50c. (50c in ET6 = 60c CPU core temp)

Ambient temp 23c, case temp 25c Have monitored several places inside to be sure of no hot spots and everywhere is 2-3c above ambient. CPU idle temp 39c @ 740rpm and Prime (100% load)@ 1200rpm.... Fans max rpm are TY-140 1300rpm & FN053 1500rpm, but I see no reason to run them faster. System is silent below 50% cpu and even at 100% cpu is only low air movement sound.

The Lamptron is a bit pricey and I really don't need all the bling of a touchscreen to boot.

I can't even find the fractal fan controller... The only e-tailers they have listed are microcenter, NE, and NCIX and NE and NCIX don't sell them online =(.

I think I may end up going with the NZXT, it's 50w per channel so it should be more than I need and the LED's are very subtle.

I recently purchased a Hydra Pro.

Have a look at my thread for the Hydra Pro.

Touch screen controllers can act a bit wonky, not as reliable and manual knobs.

The Adjust 108 won't be out till August.

I have the NZXT mix myself, it's a great controller, works like a charm, just a heads up-the connectors are 3 pins, so you will have to do a bit of cutting if you want any 4 pins in there!
The LEDs can be changed to a few different colors (purple, red, light blue, dark blue, green, white) and if you hold the toggle button, it turns them completely off, so if you don't want LEDs on then you don't need to have them thumb.gif go for it, it's a really good buy.
