Stay away from these headphones.
Wear them for more than an hour and your ears will melt from the heat or be squashed to death.
Plus I find them rather inadequate near the 20 Hz range.
For dubstep as most people like now they are sufficient at reproducing sound but they are so uncomfortable.

I want to upgrade from mine but almost anything above will need amping and you will want nice headphones at that point.
I just can't see dubstep and headphones being a good pair unless they are amped.
Far too much low end for wimpy little drivers to really be able to displace enough air.
Until I see headphones that are built with an internal amp, marketing for dubstep will just be a gimmick imo.

Any time I see headphones like these it reminds me of the time when a random guy saw my M50's in public and just flat out said I should of gotten beats. I was speechless.

Wouldn't surprise me if a couple years down the line kiddies will only buy headphones that have phone mics on them.

In-line mics on in-ears make a small amount of sense though.

I don't get this whole, headphones for certain types of music crap. All that means is they've EQ'd the bass higher so that you think there's more of it. Fair enough there is, but enjoy your distortion.

I use a Musical Fidelity M1HPA and Sennheiser HD-800s - you would all be surprised how little real, defined bass is contained in dubstep tracks. Most of it is artificially created by the 'boom' of the headphones. Going on that, these Pioneers must sound atrocious.

It's not really that the bass is amplified by the headphones, it's more that the bass in most dubstep is mid-bass that punches instead of that lovely sub-bass that really booms and creates atmosphere.

As stated in here already, there are already headphones out, including others by Pioneer, that would suit sub-heavy music fine.

For earphones, the JVC FX500, JVC FX700 and Panasonic RP-HJE900 are the sub-bass earphones.

Also, driver size has nothing to do with how the headphone sounds like nor sound quality.

Aparently everyone on these forums claims to DJ dubstep. Well i also DJ and I use Technics and Audio Technica headphones. These Pioneer headphones are disgusting, just a money grab from dumb teenagers.
