Once I've gotten my hands on a 470 I don't really care what happens to my 8800...it's served it's purpose and it did it well!

I'm just really longing for some gaming. Forced myself not to touch any games for the past 7 months because of studies and now summer vacation is here and I can't game. tongue.gif

As far as the other problems...do you think they are related to the GPU? :/

That's my only concern. I mean logically in my small simple mind I cannot fathom how a faulty GPU would stop me from loading live cds, and the hard drive works - it was in another computer and it did it's just. :/

Is there any simple way in which I could assertain what's going on?

Your GPU is sending and receiving errors from the CPU. As you can see it is corrupting displayed images. Probably one of the Memory Chips or even the GPU's solder joins has a micro fracture corrupting the data going though. The OS is probably crashing trying to load Graphic Drivers, Try windows safe mode to see if that works. Don't expect your computer to act perfectly when your video card is failing.

Baked the card and now it works perfectly, also managed to start live cds. smile.gif

Also ordered all the stuff so I should be able to "upgrade" (if you can call old hardware that tongue.gif) soon.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the advice from all of you so far! smile.gif)
