Ok..So I went to do my first DICE run a few days ago..kinda glopped a lot of LET on the mobo....set it all up..
and here's where I may have messed up..I started comp up with only acetone in the pot..
It never got past a quick one light then shutdown..
Did I fry the chip? or the mobo..? :

There's nothing wrong with booting up with nothing in the pot.

I can't see LET having caused the problem either unless you got it in the wrong place like in the CPU socket or something.

I would test everything again with just an air cooler.

I've never heard of LET damaging a board just by applying it. I have ripped a cap or two off when I used too much my first time though.

I've been trying to peel the LET back off..a little scared by the caps..Mabe the pot wasn't down on the cpu good enough?I may LET my AMD board..if you guys say there's no way it could be that..I may have gotten a drop into the socket,too..i had the rentention plate off...and went right up to the outside.rather gloppily :

Naw, you're good. When I pulled caps off, I used a lot. And I mean a lot. It was my first time though

You might think next time to do eraser around the socket and then LET everywhere else. I would think it is a high possibility there is some LET in the socket.

LET on the board itself hasn't been a problem for me, I have gotten a drop into the socket before & had to clean off a couple pins as much as possible before it dried (board was OK). It is a good idea to tape over all the nearby connectors & slots (memory slots, pci-e, 8 pin EPS, etc.), I have fubar'd one board by getting stuff into the first DIMM slot before. I also have a small paintbrush I use for around the socket where you need to be careful, & the tight areas.
As arandomowl said, try it out on air & make sure all is well, may have just missed a connection or had a bad mount.

^that's what I think happened..some of the little holes on the 1st RAM slot were kind of sealed up

air is no-go..i may still try another chip..if not..oy...I suppose cut my losses

Even if it's in the first slot, it should be fine. The LET won't bridge any electrical connections so it should work even if the entire slot is full of it.
