be carefull with those fittings friend, they are made for pneumatics, pneumatics that leak is no big problem..

i have had a set with those fittings, and they started to leak after a while, points you have to watch really good is: your tube has to be cut perfect straight, and still then there can be no force on the tube.. to be honest, i'd never use them again..

good luck! and hope it wont leak!

also: i have a chieftech mesh bigtower here, its old.. some stuff cut up, but the side panels fit your case (everything is same exept for front panel afaik).. if you have friends traveling between holland and poland, they can pick it up for free always helps to have spare side panel or something tongue.gif

I' also concerned about leaking, but I've spend too much money on that project already, so there won't be new fittings anyhow in the closest future.

Though I still think air-grade hosing and fittings will get the job done. There were some lc mods on the net that were actually successfully using those.

 

WarDad: O-ring is directly responsible for tightness, but there are also little metal pins inside the fitting which are keeping hose in place.

That solution works well. I could hang myself on the hose put in one of those fittings, that's how firm they hold ;)

What really concerns me is the ageing of rubber of which are o-rings made, cause right now I don't see any possibility that they could leak. I understand that that can change. I'm going to make closed loop without, so if there will be any leaks in fittings (which are usually small), the pressure inside the loop will keep the water in place.

 

Either way, I'm going to run the loop for few days without pc parts, to see if it can be dangerous.

I've been using the same style fittings running air through the shop at 120psi and havent had any issues in the past few years the first couple see alot of vibration from the compressor motor, but thats it, put them in and forgot them. I have a friend that is useing my left overs for his fish tank, but never through of using them on the PC. I think that might make me nervous, but interesting !
back in the early 90's I used a an old trans cooler an old aluminum block I drilled , with a fishtank pump and A/N fittings for a project to see how high we could clock an old AMD 586.. we did manage to cook it but damn it was an ugly monster, we never thought liquid cooling would take off, to much potiential for damage..

Maybe 120psi was enough to maintain tightness by expanding hose enough?
