Thread Starter
Just built a rig with parts I had laying around, some parts where bought new and others where bought off forums.

AMD Phenom II X2 555 BE Unlocked@3.6ghz 1.45v
ASUS M5A78L-M-LX
2x2GB G.Skill NT DDR3 1333mhz
650w WideTech 650w PSU
Generic Case
LG Burner
640gb WD Caviar Green

Above cost me around $150 which was bought off a forum.

Then added a 1gb Galaxy GTX 560 for an extra $180 new and had a spare Lennovo L197 19inch monitor lying around.

Will post pics up later.

The 555 BE should not be unlocked on the ASUS M5A78L-M-LX.  This board does not have 125W TDP processor support due to a low end 3+1 phase VRM system.  You may have reliability issues while running with 4 cores at over the TDP limit.  CPU throttling might be a frequent occurence, reducing your 100% load performance to levels below those previous to the unlock and OC.  You sir need a new board!

Also with just 30A (360W 12V rail) on that Widetech "650W" (really an upbranded 400W) PSU I would be extremely cautious with trusting it to run a GTX 560 and an x4.  The x4 at stock and the GTX 560 at stock will take up 275W on the 12V rail alone and that does not count the 12V voltage used by the fans, the chipset, etc.  This is dangerously close to the limit.  This isn't a high quality unit and Windtech has been known to be a very fishy brand.

With two possibilities of your system blowing up (well, the former is actually protected from that, but not the latter), I would seriously make a reconsideration as to operating this PC.  Your components were cheap for a good reason.  If you want safe, reliable operation, you should spend more and you should be prepared to spend more.

My recommendation: motherboard and PSU replacement, right away.

If you do nothing else listen to the "Goat Man" he is Canadian. biggrin.gif

You have a good CPU and good GPU, just do not risk them with a under powered MB and PSU.

Sorry to say as well but the Galaxy GTX560 new should sell for around the $160 mark and no more then $170 max.

Wow nice! Only $350.00! Goes to show what you can accomplish when you take your time and shop around. Nice job.
