Desperate for Cooling

Hello everyone I have just set up my new pc in a 600T corsair case. This case so far has only stock fans. With the stock fan set up, my asus 670 top is running pretty hot, and I was wondering what fans should I switch the stock ones for/how should I set each fan up?(intake or exhaust)

All suggestions are welcome !

Give this thread a read through, if you have the time biggrin.gif. But seriously it worked wonders for me with fans only running at 1000rpm. It also prevents dust build up. Good luck!

nice find! can anyone link some specific fans I could possibly buy from newegg or amazon?

i currently have my side door to my case off and im using a house fan to blow cool air directly on the gpu haha

keeps temps nice and low for heavy benchmarks

what do you consider hot on the 670? i find most of these posts are results of unreasonable expectations of owners. have you tried dialing up your fan speed on the 670 with a custom fan profile?

What ^ said. What do you consider hot? Most of the recent GPUs have much higher temperature thresholds.

yes I have a pretty aggressive fan profile, the card hit 72C 30 mins into heaven, this card throttles down clocks at 70C so I want to keep it in the sixties.

I currently have an exterior fan blowing directly onto the card to keep it cool smile.gif

you could replace your rear out fan with this bad boy http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185054 it's the Scythe Ultra Kaze. I have one of them running as a pusher on my H60 CPU cooper and it drops my temps up to 6*c depending on my room temps. The fan pushes over 130 cfm and you can seriously feel it from feet away, however it is very loud so you may want a fan controller (I know I did.) But seriously that fan will move air like crazy and it's cheap.

Im looking for solid fans that push a lot of air but are relatively silent. I hear the gentle tycoon is good? White or red fans would be sick, but black is fine if the fans are worth it.

Would it be better to put multiple smaller fans where my stock 200mm fans are? or should i get two more 200m fans to replace them? How many smaller fans can fit where a 200mm fan goes?

the smaller the fan generally the louder it is because in order to move alot of air they need to spin very fast. Replacing the larger 200mm fans with higher CFM fans would be a winner imho. But just remember you can always put a fan switch on a fan to quiet it down during periods of less gaming.
