After this patch, I'm boycotting the gold AH. With the increase in repair costs, decrease in rare drops (as if 99% of the rares that did drop werent garbage anyways), this is just driving players to rely more on the AHs. The AH shouldn't be a required part of the game, it should be a "perk". Of course, if you build it into the game, players will allow it to define the game itself. Too many players out there making a killing of the AH, and then buying gear for thier characters. Now it seems as if doing this is a far more viable option than simply playing the game. I have to set restrictions on myself. No AH activity for me. I have to keep this game fun for myself somehow.

Decrease in rare drops? There's tons more rare drops, and they're much higher level then before.

Whatever they did to Kulle yesterday really blows as well. Was in a group last night and all Kulle was doing was teleporting TO players, then gibbing them before he even appeared. You didn't even get a chance to hit a button.

I thought they needed to up repair costs in inferno, but they went way overboard with it. I paid ~30k to repair when my gear just turned yellow. I wound up net losing 120k last night and all I got were mediocre drops - doubt they will pay for the repair bill..

I am one step closer to quitting. I will give them until next patch to redeem themselves. Shelving this game for now.

Really? I overall think the game is in a much better state atm. Yea the repair costs are expensive but if your dieing to in act you can go to previous act and viablly farm gear without the AH, which just wan't possible before.

There is alot about this game that bugs me (the new stupid repair costs is just another line on the list).

At least I have cashed out enough form the RMAH to pay for my collectors editions, so i can walk away without remorse.

There are only more rare drops if you have 5 stacks of NV. The made MF not effect destructables and CHESTS, so I'm actually getting less rares on average. Maybe it's just me... but I generally also stack MF gear while farming. With 5 stacks NV i'm just under 200% mf with my MF gear equiped. Trust me, I was getting more rares before patch. I'd get rares from dead villagers, chests, even barrels. I'd almost always get 2-3 rares on every champ/rare/boss. Since patch, it's hit or miss, and now I generally get only 1-2 rares from bosses. And FYI, I also haven't seen a single legendary/set drop in over 3 weeks now, and I play roughly 30-40 hours a week, more or less since it's still kinda new.

And yes, the rares that do drop have the POTENTIAL to be higher ilvl, but all that really translates to is a higher ilvl PoSs. 90% of the rares that I see dropping are useless, with only about 2-3 percent being useful to me, and the rest being auctionable but for marginal profit. Most of the time, I'm better off just selling it if i can't use it myself unless it's a sensational drop.

Edit: And while I'm on this topic, why are we even calling them rares anymore. There's nothing rare about getting a rare. It's only rare to find one worth keeping. I'd much rather rarely get a rare, but have a better chance of getting a good one, than having to sort through a plethora of "rare" items at any given moment.

Sad to say but you are in the minority at the moment good sir.

Out of 15 players on my friends list, there are 0 online. Several have been offline for several days before logging in post 1.03 then logging back out.

In Public Games last week there were anywhere between 12,500 to 15,500 or so users at any given time.

Right now my screen shows 1,755..........1,755. As far as I know, no part of the Patch would account for that change to be occuring.
If those numbers are accurate that is over an 85% reduction in players online (visible by me which I know does not account for all of B.Net, but hey in just one server that is a huge drop)
I do not think that Blizzard has any clue what they are doing at the moment.

For those of you who want a laugh, I found this mildly amusing. Copied it in spoiler underneath from the official forums.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
First, thank you for addressing so many of the important issues in this patch. After playing a couple of quests tonight, however, I've realized that the fight against exploiters will never truly be won.

  • DPS is still way out of control - in some cases I've even seen players kill certain monsters before they were killed themselves
  • People are still taking advantage of skills with unintended effects such as increased survival, damage output, and situation control
  • There are several chests that continue to drop gold when opened; there are also still other, more nefarious means of gold farming, such as killing enough monsters that you actually MAKE more gold than your repairs cost
  • I personally witnessed an incident where a player found a yellow item, and when they identified it, it had stats that could be exploited to increase their combat effectiveness - for the class they were playing at the time.
  • Some gear seen on vendors still had stats other than Vitality that could, in the hands of an insidious agent, theoretically be employed toward the end of making combat easier (less dying, and in extreme cases, more killing)
  • Bosses are still able to be killed by players - I don't have screenshots to prove this, but it is happening. Hopefully your data analysis can pick it up.
  • Some bosses and rares are failing to properly spam stun, wall, poison, set afire, teleport into pools of acid, knockback, slow, and freeze players simultaneously while they teleport-kite the player at supersonic speed, carpeting every square inch of the zone with toxic ooze and letting their invulnerable minions with boss powers one- and two-shot us.
  • I personally was able to set up a bizarre configuration in the auction house search panel where I could find items with specific stats and also be able to sort them in a way that was not effectively random.
  • A friend of mine told me they were playing with some person earlier who - and I'm just the messenger here - seemed like they might be having fun while playing the game. I don't know how true this is, but if it's even a possibility, god help us all.

I'm just trying to do my part to ensure this kind of disgusting and cowardly behavior gets stamped out as soon as possible. If there's anything I hate in a game, it's feeling like I'm getting more powerful and that my time and efforts are culminating in some kind of... /shudder... progression. I'm in this for the frustration and disappointment, 100%, and I stand behind you with every patch that brings us closer to those ideals.

Keep up the great work.

For those who are complaining SOLELY based off of the IAS nerf, I agree with you.....to a degree. To do something like this NOW, after the RMAH has been released is just petty and sneaky on Blizzards Part. Before you go telling me that they announced it beforehand, remember that they had not determined the best course of action to take in adjusting the IAS. I have no problem with a reduction to IAS or diminishing returns which were the options they were deciding on.

A 50 % reduction in IAS across the board was not the right choice. When the next nerf hits and Critical Chance/ Damage gets chosen simply because in essence, too many people were stacking it to add damage, (same basic reasoning that was used for the IAS nerf) will it still be the Players fault in your eyes ?

BTW, are you going to tell me that in D2 you and everyone else did not try to get to 7 fps for your zon? You did that by stacking what attribute ?

IAS will always be an important and viable stat for damage, regardless of how Blizzard tries to spin it in their favor.

However a large % of the people have issues with more than just the IAS nerf. It is the constant nerfing across the board.

Just 3 of the nerfs from this patch

Dying too much while trying to farm gold - Repair costs increased
Do too much Damage - Reduce IAS
Chest "MAY" give you a good item - Remove MF effect on them

On top of nerfs from the other patches and hotfixes, it is getting ridiculous.

I think that the direction Blizzard is proceeding does not end well for any of us who actually WANT to play the game and hope it improves.
