Hello,

I currently have the system below in my profile and you can infer that I'm in dire need of an upgrade, heh. I am not really looking to overclock it, but rather have something stable that will last for a couple of years. I don't do much gaming on the pc (except a bit CSS), but do extensive programming where I run a local apache server on my other HDD partition. So I'm not sure whether a dual processor would benefit me, hoping someone can shed some advice on that.

I plan on just buying a Processor, Motherboard, a CPU Cooler and perhaps new RAM.
I want to keep my budget around $300 as I will also be purchasing an 19" LCD (if anyone has any suggestions for an LCD as well, that'd be superb).

I would really like to keep my 6600GT with the new pc, but I was having a difficulty finding a mobo that has an AGP slot and supports AMD X2 or Intel Duo Core.

I *can* increase the budget to $400 if people recommend it.
Appreciate any input, thanks

Look at a 19" WS Acer or Hanns G LCD for a good cheap LCD.

Wow thanks for the replies so far. I don't think the Abit NF7-s 2.0 mobo is socket 754; all I could find is that it's a "Socket A" mobo.

Re: LCD
I forgot to mention, I don't want a widescreen 19" LCD and it should have DVI input. Also, not really looking for something cheap here, but price range is $200-250. Perhaps Samsung or Viewsonic?

Re: Build
BenHagerty, thanks for the build. But is there a mobo that has an AGP slot for that CPU? I'm asking so I can avoid buying a new GFX card and perhaps spend the money on some DDR2 or so RAM.

For an LCD, samsung makes some great ones. There is this new one that is 300 dollars if you cant find it that has GREAT color accuracy(97% of NTSC's Color Gamut) along with 2ms response time. Google "LCD Monitor for World Cyber Games 2006" and you should find it.

I looked up that Cyber Games official LCD, it is the Samsung 931C. But then I found this, Viewsonic VX922 for $200 AR at Frys.com
The VX922 has DVI and a 2ms as well.

Re: Graphic Card
I have read a bit about AGP vs. PCI-E and I suppose it's only in my interest to go for a PCI-E system now. So then, what would be my options for a Mobo (without AGP slots) and a PCI-E GFX card? I am asking this as I also want some new (DDR2?) RAM. I don't really need high end GFX card, but something that gives me good FPS in let's say CSS.

Thanks!
