BSOD Has Me Stumped. - Page 4

Have you done anything that would let it go on this long? If not and you haven't touched anything since you've reported your issue here, the crash will likely come soon.

I think turning off C3 and C6 in the BIOS is what fixed it. I'm going to keep my current BIOS settings and system configuration for a few more days and see if it crashes. It should have crashed already. Also, I remember reading on another forum that turning off C3 and C6 was recommended for my board.

It would make some sense, especially for when you're overclocked. C3 and C6 completely shut down all cores, so there is no voltage/data at all. Considering your issue happened when your system went into standby and other idle features, it's likely C3 / C6 was your issue. We'll see though.

I had some sort of crash the other day. When I went to resume my system from standby, it restarted itself before anything appeared on screen. But that was after I messed around with the page file. I've turned the page file off since then. I read that having a page file isn't good for SSDs, and is generally unnecessary when you have 8GB of RAM or more (which I do). I know that not having one disables memory dumps, but I haven't gotten any BSODs that actually generate a crash dump, with the exception of just that one I posted.

Anyway, I'll see how it goes from here. I'll keep you guys posted.

Set CPU PLL overvoltage : disabled NOT auto
See what happens, bios may be enabling automatically which apparently makes sleep mode not work as it should.
*Not talking about "CPU PLL" -- "CPU PLL Overvoltage" is different biggrin.gif

UPDATE: My computer crashed again. It didn't generate any crash dumps. I had my page file on and set to system managed before the crash too. I'm fed up with Windows. It's such a piece of trash mad.gif

How did the computer crash, in what fashion?

When I clicked my mouse to wake it up, only the system itself woke up. None of the peripherals or monitors came back on. After a few seconds it restarted itself. It stayed on for only a few seconds (not even making it to POST) and then restarted, and continued to do this over and over until I shut it down manually by pressing and holding the power button. It's done this before.
