That's not the only one I read, but everyone basically says it's an average performer 1-4 degrees off the H100

And if you compare these 2 benchmarks... the Bigwater outperforms the XSPC rasa kit, and by a measureable margin.

If you can go custom. Do some research before you buy. No offence, so far you have complained about a CPU, M Board, cooler, position of PSU don’t add noisy fans and a bad cooling solution to this.

With all due respect noise is the last thing I'm worried about.... I wouldn't be blowing $30/fan if I was concerned about noise.

Additionally read my previous post in regards to XSPC.

The 2 benches clearly show the thermaltake outperforms.

Are there other things about thermaltake I should be leary of probably... but at the moment performance isn't one of them.

I never said a word about the motherboard, I never said I couldn't move my PSU. And I never said I didn't OC this 3820 to 4.7ghz with this obviously misfit cooler and had it run stable except where video rendering or Prime95 were concerned.

kuhler 620 is a good cooler...if youre sure its mounted properly *WITH THERMAL COMPOUND* and the plastic thing thats stuck at the bottom of heatsinks is off...then you might just have a defective 3820. it happens.

You don't buy a high CFM fan because you are worried about noise.

I'll give a new cooler a shot but if temps don't change, then ya it's the CPU that sucks for w/e reason.... More than likey it's the cooler as others have said isn't pressured enough on the chip to transfer enough heat fast enough as it should.

did you ensure that it supported LGA 2011 when you bought it?

some CPU's are defective and run hotter than they should. i dont mean this in a wrong way but 99% of the time its user error with problems like this. did you make sure it was even pumping? can you hear a pump noise, or feel liquid moving through the tubes?

A friend of mine was having problems with his 2500K running super hot and i told him to reseat the HSF. he did, and found out that the plastic thing they stick at the bottom was still on tongue.gif

Call antec, ask for the 2011 mounting kit.

Don't buy the bigwater, it's crap. Go ahead and ignore everybody who says its crap if you like, you'll regret it.
That benchmark you linked shows the Phanteks PH-TC14PE and the Noctua NH-D14 beating it (both cost significantly less)

Firstly two diffent CPU's are being used in the test so Im not sure its apples with apples . I have one of the pumps used in in the Big water kits , its collecting dust as it is rubbish.

Custom would be way better and you can add GPU cooling later. I have a XSPC cpu block that does way better than the H80 I used to have . I tried to use the Thermaltake pump on the XSPC block and the flow was so bad it was 5c hotter than the H80.

After taking my time and doing research I was able to build a loop that works. i5 3570 K at 4.7 max 84c on prime95 2x 7970 at 1300/1800 39c after 1 hour BF3 and no noise.

I would call Antec and get a 2011 mounting and see how that goes.

The only reason I'm gripping about this CPU at stock speed is because after seeing my load temps at 4.7ghz. I wanted to find out if the cooler was the issue... thus video rendering and prime tests at stock speed.

Obviously they portray the same result underload which means more than likely either:

1. the CPU is bad which everyone has agreed with

or

2. the cooler is garbage and I need a different one.

No. You very likely don't have the right mounting kit. You said you used the same kit as on an i7-920? Then you're using the wrong kit.
