This....

I do not rely on AMD drivers @ all, I am so glad to have 2x GTX 480s and I love them. I previously had 2x GTX 560 Ti in SLI but exchanged them for the 480s and that was a good choice.

The GTX 480 does run hot but its not like its bad, these cards are made to be ran at those temperatures. I would highly vote for the GTX 480.

Another notice, Nvidia lately has been updating their drivers and every few driver updates you get increased game performance, what else do you want from such an awesome brand

Those GTX 480 were once sold at a price of 500+ dollars when released and now they are being sold for ~210 new and ~160 used, what else do you want.

Anyways you had my vote, hope you choose the right one.

thats a pile of rubbish. Overclocking can be done on the HD 7900 cards too. Overclocked the HD 7950 can hit 1150 Mhz easily with voltage tweaking. Here is a rough approx of the OC perf

HD 7970 (1250) - 100%
HD 7950 (1150) - 90%
HD 7870 (1250) - 75%
HD 7850 (1200) - 60%

Gtx480 if you have air condition. Mine have been running strong for 2 years and nothing slows em down at 1080p.
