Another Conroe build

Thread Starter
So, my system is getting a little outdated. I noticed today when I installed Oblivion on my current build and I had to keep all graphic settings low for it to run properly. I knew this day would come and yet I was dissapointed that it was today.

With that said I decided to build myself a new conroe system. I just got a new job at ibm this week with a bit of a pay increase over my last job, So I decided to build myself a new pc for christmas. The build I am looking at is below, but I was thinking it might be best to splurge a bit and go with an e6600 for the higher L2 cache. If anyone knows if the performance is worth it let me know. I am all about best bang for the buck so if any of you know of parts or builds that might perform better for around the same price please let me know! Also I will be using the Case and psu in my current build to save a bit of money until I decide to buy a newer one. I am pretty sure my psu will be able to power everything in the build. I wont be adding any other parts without something more powerfull.

And all the prices are in Canadian since I'm in canada

Unfortunately, I couldn't find some good pc 5300 ram on vibecomputers.com so I'll have to order from somewhere else. I'm trying to get some 667mhz ram that i can oc close to 800mhz. I might also just get a local shop to order some in for me if it's cheaper. There's a store here that charges no tax but it's a little far and a pain to deal with sometimes. So that's my build idea. Lay on the ideas, comments or suggestions!

Yeah the Mushkin is a nice set, but if you can find some Team Xtreem 667mhz with CL3 it would be better. Those have Micron D9 chips.

Dont get the 7900gs. Get the 7900gto if you can find it. Its basically an underclocked 7900gtx. It owns and it's very cheap for the performance.

The only problem is that the GTO's are dissappearing from sites. Maybe the whole GTO thing was an error
