Need help choosing ram for upgrade

Thread Starter
I'm currently running 8gbs of ddr3 1333mhz. I have about $100 bucks to get some better ram. I was thinking of just grabing 16gbs of 1600mhz but then i was thinking i really don't need 16gbs right now. I mean even in a year i could just upgrade again. So i was thinking should i get some beefy 2133mhz or 1866mhz ram? I was looking at the Gskill Sniper 2133mhz but the timings were like 10,10,10,33 or something and i'm not sure how all the timing stuff works. Would that be a good upgrade. Is it really going to matter going with raw speeds over timings. I know a lot of people are like just get 1600mhz now adays but what really is the benefit of getting super fast speeds like that. Would it only benefit people that are overclocking the base clock or would it make a difference all around. All i do on my PC is game so it would only really benefit gaming.

System as it stands right now:

DISPLAY - Eyefinity (3)22" LCD Monitors (5256x1050)

CPU - Intel i5 2500k w/CM Hyper 212+ push/pull (OC 4.9hz)

MOBO - AsRock Z68 Ext3/Gen3

RAM - 8gb Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1362mhz

GFX - XFX HD 6950 Xfire (OC 840/1325)

SSD - Crucial M4 128gb

HDD - Spinpoint 7200rpm 500gb

PSU - Antec EA750

CASE - HAF 932 Advance

Get these:

They say 1600mhz, but people are overclocking them like crazy (2133 @ 10-10-10-28 and faster) without even breaking 1.5 volts! These are what I would buy if I wanted a RAM upgrade. And they're cheap!

if you aren't scared of overclocking, these samsung 32nm sticks are the biggest rave, because they use less power than any other brand because of the new 32nm technology, and they overclock like crazy! they seriously don't even need heatsinks because they run so cool. I would highly advise getting 16 gb of these, as they are cheap compared to competitors and overclock like a beast!

See look^

Same link I posted. We aren't kidding, these things are all amazing. They overclock to insane speeds at less voltage with lower timings than other sticks that cost more than twice as much.

I'm not to familiar with overclocking ram. I don't get the timings. I know i can just set the speed in bios and stuff but. I basically just set to what i want to try and then play until i get it right. I could just try some settings people posted on the feedback and see if they work i guess and tweak from there. LOL
