It will probably take 2 generation for cards to hit that high @ Stock. Next gen will hit it on Air OC.

Well, that's a lot better than my 11k 3DMark score for a 1.3GHz 680...

Stop it with the 680 vs. 7970 compute features talk guys, it's completely off topic.

Haha I went to 3dmark's site and the hall of fame on the front page has a bunch of people around the 13k mark and then kingpin all the way at almost 17k. He has certainly raised the bar. I must say I'm very happy with Nvidia seeing as my 670 is my first green card.

That's a truly impressive clock speed but I'm with the guy who said folks want to Oc without having to do L2N. Folks hitting 1.3ghz etc have my admiration more because it's something they can use all day everyday usually.

but still, AWESOME biggrin.gif

I still don't get how he had 16GB of GDDR5. They must have meant 16GB of DDR3 with the i7 3960X.
Still this is amazing for a single GPU to do so well. I would like to see what the 7970XT2 can offer when people put it under LN2. I would expect similar performances just like with the current 7970 vs 680 but maybe even higher overclocks given how well Tahiti XT overclocks.

What is everyone going "omg a 680 2ghz"?

Are you going to pay $700 for this card?

Can normal 680s do this?

Do normal 680s have voltage control?
