After EVERY new flagship release there is always a story about one "blowing up" or catching on fire. Every. Damn. Time. There are so many factors that can lead to this. Bad battery, bad charger, hot car dash, or all of the above could cause this. Read any forum on XDA and you would think that every phone out there is an unusable and defective piece of scrap. Seriously. Go read the SG3 forum. Sensationalist article is sensationalist.

What i wonder is maybe it was next to a heater vent i know my mom used to hang her phone next to the heater vent and it would get extremely hot.

I admire the sincerity of you folks but at the risk of calling you all naive do you not think for one second that a rival company could cause this quite easily? There are so many ways of doing this its untrue. Unless someone actually witnessed this I'm calling B to the S. Already in this thread alone we have 2 people now contemplating if they should get a Galaxy S when they otherwise would have. Food for thought.

There is something wrong with your phone then, that is extremely abnormal behaviour for a phone so I suggest if its still under warranty to return it. Like someone else pointed out you can have problems with any device on the off chance.

According to what I have read here, one cell phone on fire instantly means all phones will burst into flames. Ok

I thought this was the phone designed by lawyers to not be like the iPhone... Why then would they include one of it's defining characteristics?
