I am more than slightly confused by this....

The GTX 690 is THE card, outside of the MARS edition, and is more powerful than the 7970.....

If I had the choice between the two I would keep the 690.

Money as no object, 690 is clearly the way to go.

Pursuit of performance is our motto, right?

Yeah that 690 is roughly twice as powerful as the 7970.

Doesn't seem like a hard decision if you've got the power to feed it.

Also EVGA has fantastic customer service, so if it hever has issues you're golden.

I'll suggest an alternate option.... Sell the 690, buy another 7970 (if necessary) and just CFX them.

The 690 will resell better currently so you'll get more for you money. In the future if you were to decide that you don't need 2 x 7970s you can just sell one of those again. It'd work out better if something were to go wrong with the card too.
