Thread Starter
I have my current 1090t settings =

3.8ghz 200 @ 19x @ 1.45v
HTLink : 2000
CPUNB: 2800 @ 1.4v
Antec h20 620 kuhler

RAM HyperX Kingston 8gb DDR3

1333 Mhz 7-8-7-22 2T @ 1.65v

Would love to OC it to 4ghz but can't seem to do it. Any suggestions?

Couple of questions smile.gif

What are your temperatures under load? also is that 1.4v on the CPU-NB-VID?
How are you testing that you cant get any further? Lin pack or prime95?

The CPUNB voltage can greatly increase the thermal output of the Phenoms, if you want 4Ghz, give this a try, drop the NB frequency back to 2Ghz, and set the CPUNB voltage to.. maybe .02 - .05V above stock? (just a little bump basically) try 1.475V if you have that option on the CPU. If your not stable there. well we will keep working until you get it smile.gif Watch your temps, if you get to close to 60C under load, dont grit your teeth and ride it out, shut it down and lower voltage

I ran prime95 with these settings for atleast 30mins and my temp was 32min/61max. Should I reset everything to default and start somewhere? I just copied these settings off of somebody's thread. haha biggrin.gif

I would suggest, lowering your CPU NB voltage, check for stability.

Most Phenoms only need about 1.3v for about 3000Mhz NB. Give or take some, but 1.4v seems mighty high.

Then you should see the load temps for the CPU drop, in which case you can bump up the multi more, and your CPU voltage.

I would also suggest trying to just put you RAM settings to auto. Since it is 1600Mhz and you are only working on the multi for now there is no need to worry about it.

Down the track you may find a better overclock with using the FSB and multi.

You need to raise the bar on your cooling solution before you can clock any higher.

Good work, thumb.gif

Try a CPU multi of x16.5 and FSB of 243. It will give ya a clock of 4.009 Ghz.

That should also put your ram very close to 1600Mhz.

It will lower your CPU NB freq. a tiny bit, but no worries.

Then run prime95, if it gets past the first hour, then try to lower your voltages one at a time, by one set point at a time.

Until it is unstable, then go back to your last known stable setting.

When you find settings that, then try to run prime95 for at 8hrs, memtest86 for at least 100% on each tester, and my favorite run any and all the bench-marking programs you can get your hands on. If needed you may need to just bump some voltages a very small amount up.

When you have it stable go to here and get CPU Z. Get it validated.

Then you can go here and copy the banner to your signature.

I think you got to many volts or a bad chip.
I'm running this:
CPU: 200x20 @ 1.40
NB 2.9Ghz @ 1.3v
Ram is running at 1600, because my cpu hates fsb.
