Salvage?

Thread Starter
I brought home one of my mom's old computers the other day and I was wondering if thisa processor is salvagable? I realize that any processor can be used at any given time, but is this worth it?

Not much of an Intel guy, so I'd like to know...

The top of the chip reads...

INTEL
PENTIUM 4
1.8GHZ/256/400/1.75v
SL5(0, or U?)K COSTA RICA
3230A8(0 or 8)2 - 0596

Any help with this would be appreciated...

The board it came with is an Intel Desktop Board D845HV

Thanks again.

SL5UK

*beats Chozart*

Seems ok. Really won't do good for a gaming machine or anything, but should make a fine folder or rig for a friend or something. OC it a bit and it might be able to at least hold its own somewhat on the gaming arena.

We use these at the High School I work at. They are decent and reliable. I would salvage it for a secondary rig... folding, spare, fileserver, siblings/parents... the list goes on.
