Ok i just bought an AMD FX-8150 with the liquid cooler but i have a msi 890gxm-g65 motherboard and was wondering this motherboard supports 140w cpus but it only has a 4+1 phase power on the cpu can i get any overclock with cpu without an issue i was hoping around 4 to 4.2ghz or am i gonna need to sell my current board and try to get something else.

You should be able to get the overclock you want. 4+1 isnt great but it wouldnt require much voltage from that cpu to get to 4.2ghz. I read reviews on newegg and saw others overclocked for years at speeds around what you are talking about. clock it up ! thumb.gif

what's your power supply?
with a decent psu you should be able to get at least 4ghz with your motherboard.

With the explosive increase in power consumption of a Bulldozer when overclocked, I'd be very careful. Keep checking those VRM temperatures!

The FX chip only really start to consume major power when it is over 4.5ghz.
