Quick Update

Summary: Sorry it's been a while watercooling peeples I have had a few set backs and didn't have much to report. Here is the skinny:

- Ran all the plumbing
- Ran 48hr leak test.
- Took lots of pic's to get ready to post my progress.
- Attempting first boot up - FAIL
- Found CMOS battery socket to be faulty RMA's board.
- Ordered an air cooler to bench test before going through all the plumbing again on the 3930k.
- Got new board - FAIL
- Confirmed with known good PSU
- RMA'd CPU

Right now I am waiting on my replacement 3930k. I could go into the details but to sum it up the symptoms when I was on water would be when I hit the power button on the board it would just trip the PSU. When I got the new board and benched it on air the PSU would spin the CPU fan for about 2 seconds then trip then after a few seconds repeat attempting to turn itself on etc...
I have an EVGA FTW x79 so even with nothing installed but the CPU I should atleast get an error code on the board LED - Nothing

So I just got a tracking # from Intel today...UPS doesn't have info yet but I thought I would post something to show I am still alive LOL.

Here is a pic of what it might look like when I am done and replumb!

Quick Update

- Got the new CPU - IT WORKS!
- Built booted up installed OS, drivers etc... then found out one of the DVI ports was artifacting bad on one of the 690's, since I am running a 1+3 monitor setup I unfortunately need that port so...
- RMA'd the 690
- Got the new 690 put it in checked all DVI ports looks good yay! Then loaded 690 drivers...windows goes black after log in screen. Uninstall drivers go back to basic Windows VGA...no problem. Run just on the other 690 card with drivers...no problem. Called back EVGA and yep...another bad card for a different reason no work around.
- RMA's second 690

Now I am just waiting on the second 690, cross shipped it so it should be here early next week. EVGA support has been stellar but I gotta say Nvidia must still be working out thekinks with the keplers because up until now I have never had to RMA a piece of hardware. Extremely odd to have to RMA back to back cards...for different reasons no doubt.

P.S.
Other than swapping out the card I have finalized the cable management, pump/corsail link/rad placement and finished a very small window modification. I will try to get the pics up tomorrow morning...
