Current gen graphics cards are such a letdown

Thread Starter
Nvidia's selling mid range gpus at high end prices
AMD upped their prices this generation
600 series availability is a spit in the face
600 series has no voltage control
Nvidia manufacturers are making 50 billion different versions of the 680 (do these idiots not have anything better to do??? who gives a crap, come out with something better like you were supposed to!)

This generation is such a disappointment. What bugs me the most is Nvidia's choice to release midrange-specced crap at high end prices.

I refuse to purchase anything this generation. How are some of you guys okay with this? They're taking advantage of us. Sometimes it feels like these companies are in collusion with each other just to gouge us for all they can.

Welcome to planet Earth, I see you're new here.

Who cares if the 680 was mid specced? It's the highest end card available just now, so it's priced accordingly. You can afford to pay the most for the fastest or you can't, it's as simple as that.

Wow, "They're taking advantage of us".

That is how the world works my friend. Companies like Intel don't give a crud about their customers, they only care for money. Every mass production company on earth is like that.

I would like to see a good 560Ti contender!

For me the 560Ti and the 580 were the best GPUs of the last generation.

As the OP said, the 680 has slight mid-range performance but with a huge price tag.

I'm tired of hearing people complain about this generations cards. These cards are awesome. Seriously, the top cards are about twice as good as the top cards from last gen. Who cares if its supposedly mid-ranged? GK104 is a number (with letters I guess) just because it isn't the top card, it is the top card now... And they're beastly cards. I paid more for crossfire 6950s and my 670 is way better. I didn't go with AMD again (obviously) but I assume its about the same story. I would never go back to the 6xxx series. The new gen is where its at.

Considering a 670 = 590 in terms of performance and the 670 uses half of the 590's power, I don't think it's overpriced. There's a huge performance jump this gen. I agree about AMD increasing their prices though. That was pretty lame. 6950 (almost equal to 560 ti in performance) costs like $50 more here.
