[Vortez] SilverStone FT03 MINI Review

It was only a matter of weeks ago that we were giving the FT03 a thorough examination and we definitely liked what we saw. The FT03 is now a mainstay in the mATX chassis market and deemed a firm favourite. Though the FT03 can entertain Mini-ITX, due to its size there it is surplus to requirements for many enthusiasts wanting to use this form factor and so SilverStone are back again with a variant that targets Mini-ITX and those wanting to build the most compact of computer systems – Enter the FT03-Mini.

Fusing together the looks and charm of the original the FT03-Mini has been reduced in size by a whopping 50%. The feature-set of the FT03-Mini has been rationalised to be accomodated by the reduced size of the chassis, with the aim of catering condensed, Mini-ITX systems. Can this smaller variant to the classic Fortress series impress us again? Let’s find out!

I have to say I'm torn between this and the PRODIGY from Bitfenix! From a super clean look perspective and space saving, this case takes it!

Prodigy is cheaper but i doubt it would be as good quality as this, could be wrong though. AFAIK this is more compact than Prodigy too?
Yeah The Bitfenix is bigger than this in terms of footprint and it's also cheaper.

The one thing swaying me to the bitfenix would be the capability to use better CPU coolers. What would be the best CPU cooler to use in this case?

the chassis is just a sg05 i think(but put on its front), just with the fortress casing around it

It says one of its cons is:

Houses high-end kit (long graphics cards, SSDs)

so I would imagine so

Beautiful, just beautiful... Unfortunately I pre-ordered the Prodigy already.

Edit : Figured I do have a concern on airflow, it's almost at the point where it looks so pretty I question it's cooling. tongue.gif

says on the Silverstone website up to 10" http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=333 also says in the review 680 is the biggest... 690 is 11" so it doesn't look like it would fit.
