Can you have a large TEC power a smaller TEC?

Is it possible to power a smaller TEC using a larger TEC? I was thinking to point a fernel lens at a large TEC and have it hooked up to a smaller TEC.

Do you think this is possible? And what two TECs should I use (Ex. 400w -> 45w)?

Yes it's possible. You would need to prevent warming of the side that you are not pointing the lens at, as the temperature differential is what produces a voltage.

Solar panels are designed to absorb light energy and convert it to electrical and even a very efficient one won't output much electrical power if it is small. I don't think you will get a large temperature differential on your second TEC. This shouldn't stop you from trying it out though.

I imagine you would achieve a larger temperature differential by using a solar panel to power a TEC.
