Hows my setup I shall get?

Thread Starter
Heres my wish list (aka xmas/bday) I will be upgrading, not buying a new rig.

Mobo:
Gigabyte s3 http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16813128017

Ram: GSKILL http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16820231064

CPU: 6300 http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16819115005

PSU: Sunbeam http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16817709004

And no case as of now, cant really afford a decent one. So... sadly until I find one, my upgraded rig will just be connected parts laying on a desk... lol...

Nice upgrade, but it pains me to think why folk buy the 6300. I know it's cheap and rules over most AMD X2's but the 6600 would be the least i'd get considering it has twice the L2 cache and is a Conroe after all.

The setup looks good. I agree with Mhill2029 100%, but understand about budgets.

I have heard that the SunBeam PSUs are very good, but I have used some other SunBeam products... I have not been impressed. But, hey, 4 eggs average... That's nothing to sneeze at.

The amount of money some folk spend on a case is ridiculous, get the best processor, motherboard and ram you can afford and worry about the case later on...

I know a guy that put a system list together and was about to order it from newegg, he said the best CPU he could afford was the 6600, the irony was he had a Coolmaster RC-830 Stacker amongst his shopping list! heh He saw the error in his ways and got a 6700 instead.

I some what agree, but i must draw attention to the fact that u have a x2 3800 wich is the e6300 of x2s, and also because i also cant afford the e6600 so im going w/ the e6300 to. edit, btw im not trying to start anything w/ the comment about the 3800 just had to draw it to attention.

Listed in the specs of the Mobo:

"...Notice: Only DDR2-800 memory supporting JEDEC approved 1.8V operation with timings of 5-5-5 or 6-6-6 is supported on Intel Desktop Boards based on Intel 965 Express Chipsets."

Is that the max VDIMM? What about the timings, no 4-4-4-whatever??

I'm not in the "know", but that caught my eye.

Listed in the specs of the RAM:

Timing 4-4-4-12
Voltage 2.0V-2.1V

Does anyone know if this is okay?
