The future is going to be anything-mobile anyway -- at most the mainstream.

For most people, I can agree there, but for someone like me, I have a phone. I don't need a tablet, I don't need the cloud (rather useless concept to me. I almost always use a laptop on the go, and my desktop at home. My phone is simply there during the day for a few quick updates. I see no point in having a phone or tablet do what our current desktops and laptops do, especially since the laptop and desktop makes it faster to do for many applications.

I like the re-size option, finally, for the home screen. I wish all the app boxes would be able to change to the same color though. It bugs me to have a rainbow on my home screen. I will have to keep an eye out for features of both versions of the OS.

And on a side note, why are those operating system incompatible? It makes their app market separate for the two versions, at least from what I read, and app develops will need to make two version, unless however, 7.8 apps work on 8. Then they can just be developed for 7.8. Hopefully Microsoft thought that incompatibility through. They can't afford to hinder their phones right now.

Ah, how I'd love to have that feature; it's one of the things that bug me most -- they didn't make the tiles' color customize-able. But, I expect it to be after a few months.

In my theory, they're trying to crush the legacy code with Windows RT -- if it will show a great potential.

At the moment, the only thing that's confirmed to be coming to 7.8 is the start screen. There are a number of software only features that aren't dependant on hardware, such as the voice commands upgrade, that will likely make it into WP8, but that's not confirmed yet.

The only real problem is that WP8 apps aren't going to be backwards compatible for the most part. Meaning the WP7.5 marketplace will become a graveyard as developers prefer WP8 over 7.5. Nothing they introduce in 7.8 will change that.
