Well, not everyone's aim is to "finish the game quickly", we must remember. Some people like to spend hours exploring every part of a map before going to the next objective. (i tend to do that a lot. For most games, I either fool around looking for fights or if i'm feeling kind, I just explore the map and only kill anything that interferes with my exploration ..) unless it is a boring game, then I just want to finish it as fast and painlessly as possible...

Well, that's why D3 tried to give us inferno (I do agree that the one-shot kills are annoying, but I does force you to change your game play and not just easily mow down anything in your path.
And I must also appreciate the little intelligence present in some enemies... like jailers that will cage you and next thing you know, a desecrater/molten equipped thinks it will be fun to put a pool at your feet while jailed. Such events changed my playstyle a lot since playing through "Normal".
Anyway, I do agree with the above posts that what is really needed is increase in the AI of enemies (one of the things I liked about the hitman series in the early days though there were still some bugs. If the guard saw you go hide behind a box, he'll come there ... with company ... ).
It is more fun with smarter AI (and also harder).
