I assume this is the same tubing you bought when you first started the project? If so you should be fine. It is the newer batches that are crap. I used two different batches of Primoflex in my last rig. Half of it stayed relatively clear, the other turned brown.

Have you had any deposits from platiciser or anything like that?

I wish that I had seen this thread and some of the other reports before I had placed my order for some primochil tubing. I'm debating ordering some different tubing.

I thought someone has reported that they just got some new Primo tubing and it looked like their old stuff, much nicer than what had been sold this last year.

I was looking at reworking my loop here in the next month or so and started doing more research into this whole plasticizer leaching issue that seems to be prevalent. I've been running primochill pro lrt UV green for nearly a year and haven't noticed cloudiness or leaching. However, after reading this thread and several others I realized that I don't really stress my system for much over a couple hours at a time.

This got me thinking that those most prone to the leaching issue are those that have extended gaming sessions, fold 24/7, or possible do extended video compression/editing. That would more than likely raise their normalized coolant temps into the 40-45 C range. Which, if I'm not mistaken, is exactly the range that Mayhem was seeing most of the tubing really begin to leach. Personally, the only time my temps are within that range for any extended time are when I'm stress testing or gaming. Even then it's rare that I push my rig to those extremes for very long (usually 1-2 hours). So I guess what I'm getting at is that your usage should define the quality of product that you use.

For me, I could get by with tubing containing plasticizer additives while someone who stresses their components for much longer periods would be better served by higher dollar plasticizer free tubing like the Tygon High Purity Plasticizer Free Tubing 2001. Honestly I'm even considering using this tubing in case I do decide to get into folding, video editing, or extended gaming sessions.

I just thought I'd add my two cents to this and possibly revive this thread as I appreciate the work that Mayhem has put into this issue and all the other contributions to this wonderfully addictive "hobby"! thumb.gif

Just a word of warning, I tried that high purity stuff, not only is the clear not particularly clear, but the 3/8 5/8 stuff pulled right out of a compression fitting. I.E. The OD is not correct.

Oh and I've seen plenty of leeching even with systems with lower coolants temps. There is a lot of batch to batch variation with tubing.
