[GP] Blizzard Adds 72-Hour Restriction on Diablo III Digital Purchase. - Page 5

Well in light of all this, Blizzard's strategy better work since inflation sounds way too high in this game.

Torchlight II anyone? Cheaper, less stupid, and looks like probably better gameplay.

No RMAH. No starter edition. No gold sellers. No region locking. Just a game, made by the same people as made D1 and D2, and for less than half the price of D3.

My thoughts exactly, Torchlight 2 should be AWESOME!

Glad I decided not to pre-order D3 and ultimately not buy it. The design decisions Blizzard have made with the always online DRM and this starter edition business makes it so difficult to enjoy the game the you pay for and they worked so hard to produce.

I think it's to stop gold sellers. If they get banned, they could just buy the game again and carry on spamming. This does affect new players, however, it's a small price to pay if it's going to reduce spammer's capabilities.

I can't say this is the reason for sure, but it seems like a pretty good guess.

I'm so glad I didn't buy D3. I would feel like a criminal by supporting Blizzard after their DRM restrictions.

Wow... that really sucks for those who have yet to get it and planned on digital.

Source was updated with supposed reasoning:

72 hr limit on a game known for some hardcore players.... who's weakening whose game?

Honestly, its just nice to see blizzard trying to keep a look out for peoples enjoyment. Bots suck. They killed Diablo 2, the constant spam, the constant bots causing issues and overflow.

72 hours will slow down people from buying a bunch of copies for bots/etc because they will have to wait.

I like it. I see a lot of complaining about DRM- but they are just the cry babies who want to steal copies and not pay. simple as that. the rest of us real fans sucked it up, waited, and are now ignoring the dainty little crap, are enjoying the game the way it was meant to be.
