help locating os on hdd

Thread Starter
Would the whole os be in the windows folder because I would like to delete everything besides the os and start fresh so I would like to know if it is ok to delete everything else besides the windows folder.
Thanks

You didnt specify which version of Windows but I don't think it's that simple, if you delete C:\Program Files\ and C:\Program Files(x86) I think Windows will have some serious problems. There are also User directories and some hidden folders to worry about.

Basically your best bet is formatting then re-installing Windows.

You don't have a disk or restore point to just reinstall windows from scratch?

What BinaryDemon said, your best bet is to reformat your hard drive and install fresh copy of windows.

Can I still reinstall it if used a OEM version of windows 7 for the first install
post #6 of 7
You should be able to do so without any issues, provided you didn't change any hardware that was installed originally.

No because this would result in major problems resulting in you no longer being able to use Windows.

Absolutely, as long as you haven't made major hardware changes such as getting a new motherboard, then it will be absolutely fine.
