Just Bought GTX 690 From Asus, Are They A Good Brand?

Well... Anyone that has been trying to get a GTX 690 lately knows they are more rare than unicorn tears. So when I saw one in stock on newegg I didn't care what brand. But it is an Asus. If you see my rig specs below, I have an Asus mainboard and before my catleap monitors one of their 1080 24" panels.

I have had no problems with them ever but never purchased a GPU with them. Any horror stories or things I should know?
My 6870's that I upgraded from were XFX and HIS, but I never had any problems so I couldn't tell you if they were a good warranty upholder.

All 690GTXs are same,built on exact Nvidia's specifications,they don't even have any brand markings on them,as far as I'm aware,and there are no custom PCB cards with aftermarket coolers..

Also,IIRC,only 6 brands are allowed to manufacture the 690 GTX cards,Asus obviously being one of them...

But do keep in mind,Asus is generally one of the best brands around,personally,never had a bad experience with them.For example,atm,I'm using Asus 670 GTX DirectCu...

Its a good brand, and their ASUS Advanced Replacement RMA is another great offering to reduce any downtime if sometimes goes wrong with your asus products.

Asus is a pretty reliable brand especially in the cooling of their GPU's (DirectCU II), but with the GTX 690's, nobody cares. They're all the same.

No difference to vendors except where customer service may apply. ASUS mostly good feed back.

As for after market coolers......on air the 690 does such a great job with dual vapor chambers vendors won't make one that can beat it. Under water the blocks are already out and showing higher performance gains over clocking.

Click my 690 Club link and you will see this card is the best quality built GPU ever made to date ground up. The perfect gaming card. Your going to love it. thumb.gif

Personally it's going to be hard to go back to any other card that isn't over built like the 690 for me. My standards just got pickier as tha bar was raised very high. smile.gif

Asus is the only brand i have had personally that survived [did have to send it in though] literally fire and smoke from the PCB twice*(bad PSU/Short), It is the only brand i have seen get contaminated with with candle wax, dirty water, and extreme dust (all of these on the same board) have parts fall and still run overclocked (my friends machine). granted these are motherboards i'm talking about that is the quality of asus.

So when you go asking if Asus is a good brand you just don't know what your asking. Also when i sent my board in, i was told i would have to pay for repairs seeing as it was out of warranty. I never received an estimated, just a fully functioning board on my door step.
