General Consensus IB OC'ing

Thread Starter
Is there a general consensus on what Ghz is what you should aim for before it begins to be pointless to overclock anymore and you start to see lower returns in performance on Ivybridge?

If you're talking about where the gains don't justify the amount of voltage, there really isn't a set amount - unlike Sandy Bridge though you need an extremely good cooler, no more of this hitting 4.8+ on a CM212+ - You want to pretty much add as little voltage as necessary otherwise things start to heat up awfully quick!

Probably like 4.2ghz but I'm gonna tell myself it's 4.7 to avoid an existential crisis once my parts arrive.

This...

Running i5 3570K @ 4.2 with GTX 680 on triple screens, there is no game (that I play) where my cpu is the bottleneck.

Lol this, I settled for 4.2ghz, 4.4ghz gave only a tiny performance boost for an extra 10 degrees of heat at load (4.2ghz at 1.12v v 4.4ghz at 1.20v).
