Best 512GB SSD?

Thread Starter
Hi I was wondering what you guys would recommend for a 512GB SSD. Also, is it worth it, or do you think a 256GB is probably more appropriate or cost-efficient (using it mostly for OS and games). Thanks.

256GB is likely enough. I've got a 120GB SSD and it's good for a handful of games (granted, don't really have a lot of games). If it's too small, add another 256GB and RAID-0. tongue.gif

Not only are most 512 GB SSDs more expensive per GB compared to 128/256GB SSDs, they also have lower specs (mostly lower IOPS).

Another vote for a 256GB. It seems to be the sweet spot. Keep an eye out on the Deals sub forum as this capacity frequently goes on sale.

Not always though. The Crucial M4 at 512GB actually has the highest of all the M4 line.

I don't wanna be a prick, but your graph shows it being the same, not higher. At a higher price it'd be better to get 2x256 and put them in Raid. The crucial m4 256's can be had for less than $0.85/GB whereas the 512 can be up to 1$/GB. Cost efficiency is a sexy number
