First boot after first build

Just got my PC put together a few inutes ago and got introduced to my ASUS M5A97 BIOS. I'm not sure what my next step is tongue.gif

Any help with this is appreciated.

Go into your bios and set the boot order to start with dvd drive or whatever youre installing your os off of. Then just restart and install the os.

Learn to overclock and use it mostly for a gaming pc

First mistake, I inserted the disk that came with the motherboard...so instead i need to insert my OS disk

Yes, I'd go OS, mobo, gfx card, wireless card/ adapter (if there is one) then any other hardware or programs.

P.S.- Please enter your computer's specs into your sig. I'm curious to see what you're running in there :-)

Just done a rigbulder...hang on I forgot to put it in my sig

Done...its not the best build ever. I went with what I could afford and what they had at the microcenter lol

When I run my windows 7 installaton disk it finished copying over the files and I get this error message

"Windows can not install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code 0x80070017"

Any ideas?

We bought the family pack a little over a year ago and this is the 3rd PC its being installed on so my disc is in pretty rough shape, however I just cleaned it with my glsses cleaner so I will see if it does the same thing in about 15 minutes.
