Looking for a temp build until next gen Intel processor

Recently sold my i5 2500k system. Had a 6970 and 8 gigs of ddr3. All that remains is my case, which is a lancool. Now I would like to build something that would suffice for mild - moderate gaming and streaming. Would a e6600 and 8800gt 1 gig model be enough to tide me over until at least 2013

Nope, both of those are extremely dated and not going to do much with games that have come out in about the last year.
