hi im new to all this and i decided to build a computer and ive been researching alot and im wondering how much watts i need for this build. i was thinking maybe 500 or 650 but im not sure. if anyone can help. thank you

Your video card is very weak. Get a 560se (worse than a 560, but at least better than a 550ti) for about the same price, or get this much better 6870 for not much more... if you can stand waiting for the rebate.

You'd be fine with a 450w PSU, as long as it's quality. This one is $35:

Oh, and you probably want a 7200rpm hard drive if if's going to serve as your main drive:

You might also consider an i5-3570k (us.ncix.com) + MSI z77-g43 (us.ncix.com or newegg.com). It would be the same price as your current CPU + mobo and superior unless you were planning on overclocking to 5.0ghz or something.

Thanks a lot guys I really appreciate it but when I compared the 560se against the 550ti the ti had faster clock speeds but the 560 had more cuda cores. Sorry I'm a noob so I'm not sure if cuda cores are what's important.

they are. Though I'd still recommend the 6870. Performances basically goes: 550ti (very)roughly equal to 6770 < 560se roughly equal to 6850 < 560 roughly equal to 6870
