Have you tried everest yet for monitoring temps? I was unhappy with core temp. I ran 4 programs at the same time; CoreTemp, Everest, Speedfan and EasyTune5 (from gigabyte). The last three gave similar (within 1C) temps. CoreTemp was higher (4-5C). I'll trust Everest.

I'd say that if you're in the 50's C load that you shouldn't worry too much.

As far I know, those other programs do not use the core sensors, but the sensor on the center of the die. Thus, it makes sense that Core Temp registers higher temps.

For sure up to 60C with Core temp, and about 55C with the others. However, I believe the Core 2 Duo can handle more, and 65C should be no problem.

Well if all goes bad and your cpu dies/overheats you can always RMA right? Even if you had it over 60c and like 1.5 vCore.
