much faster boot / program load times. especially in games where it has to load stuff alot.

For a $1k budget you can take your gaming a bit higher settings/levels in 1080p me thinks tongue.gif

rather spend extra money on HD room im not a huge gamer at all just looking to be able to run at medium graphics, i have money to spend 1k but def dont want to spend 1k for sake of it im not super obsessed with running games 1080p id like to try out game or two when i have free time

im def considering adding the SSD though sounds like be good choice, wondering how good a video card i need to be content as for cpu speed i imagine i3 will be fine for my needs what you think?

so lst minute advice, do is i5 cpu overkill and is SSD a huge benefit for the price, and what you think of the motherboard

The mobo should be fine like I said before i ordered one for a friend cause of the price/z77 chipset and it has good reviews. You really don't need 16gb of ram but oh well. I always like to put 500W + psu's in machines my self. You really could just get the cheaper i3. Yes that 120gb ssd is awesome and priced well I also have one and ordered one for my friends birthday.

That build by trog above is also really nice for $1000 if your worried about performance like it seems you are.
