Vertex 4 vs Crucial M4 vs Samsung 830 vs Intel 330

Thread Starter
prices for the 64GB model are:

Vertex 4 = 80€
Crucial M4 = 75€
Samsung 830 = 64€
Intel 330 = 80€

which one is best, and which one should i buy?

it thought it was like this

Intel 330 > Samsung 830 > Vertex 4 > Crucial M4

but with the samsung being so cheap...

And should i but a 64GB or a 128GB one, besides size are there other differences like speed or durability? I heard 128GB one's last twice as long

prices for 128GB:

Vertex 4 = 125€
Crucial M4 = 115€
Samsung 830 = 105€
Intel 330 = 121€

I would recommend getting a 128GB drive, since if you buy a 64GB one you pay over $1 per GB, now with 128 (120)GB drives 1GB is sub $1.
Another reason why go 128 is that they are a little faster and if you will install some programs the 64GB drive will get tight on space, while with a 128GB drive you will still have room to install a couple of your favorite games.
I personally have a Crucial M4 and it's awesome. Reliable, fast and with good firmware support thumb.gif

I chose 120 a few months ago and unless you're truly truly hurting and can't spend anymore I would say out of those I would go Sammy. I would also advise going 120/128 and there my choices would be Sammy 830, plextor M3, Intel 520, and vertex 4. Minus the Sammy the other there have 5 year warranties I believe and I value them highly. So if prices are close I would choose one of the better warranties but unfortunately with the prices the Sammies are dropping to I would say save the cash and go there.

also please note the Intel 330 and 520 carry different warranties 3 years vs 5 years.

The 128GB has more NAND chips for more NAND channels so speeds will be faster than the 64GB. I would pick the Samsung 830 out of the 4. The 830 and M4 have 3 year warranties.

With the cost of NAND memory dropping, perhaps save some money for a larger SSD in 3 years once the 830 is out of warranty.

also Riou & Sean Webster, I cant rep you guys but thx for the excellent advice.

I'll buy the Samsung 830 (128GB) for 105€

EDIT// also is the Samsung 830 128GB better and faster then the Crucial M4 64GB since a friend of mine bought that a few months ago for the same price as the samsung and then i can laugh at him... devil-smiley-019.gif
