I dont know how it relates to programming code etc , but i use my FX-8120 for HD rendering & Special FX , Including Cinema 4D, After Effects CS5.5 etc and in these tasks the 8120 just eats them up no problem !
I also use it in games such as BF3, Crysis, Brink, Crysis 2 , NFS and have no issues with it at all, very smooth tbh in games. So id recommend FX, or if you can get a high end Phenom II x 6 they should be groovy too
