NFS IV High Stakes [still the best imo]
NFS Porsche Unleashed (aka. Porsche 2000)
NFS Hot Pursuit 2
NFS Underground [start of the tuning/ricing trend]
NFS Underground 2 [start of the open-world driving, played lots of it, and lots of fans begging for a sequel, but it's a dead trend now]
NFS Most Wanted [also great, lots of fans, begging for sequel/remake... now there's one, they whine how it's not going to be good, etc]
NFS Carbon
NFS Pro Street [start of the more "authentic" driving experience, in closed track with more physics heavy game style]
NFS Undercover
NFS Shift
NFS Hot Pursuit (by Criterion) [a GREAT comeback to the CLASSIC game]
Shift 2 Unleashed [rather enjoyed this one, they promoted it without the "NFS" name to emphasize that it's supposed to be a different path they're trying to take from the usual arcade-like gameplay, and releasing only a few months after Hot Pursuit proves that point as well]
NFS The Run [THE ONLY game in the franchise I did not care enough to buy]
