locked xeons are a big dissapointment.This motherboard could be a beast but intel decided to scr#w their customers...

I hate to break it to you, but Intel doesn't build Xeons with the SR-X in mind. I was disappointed with this move as well, but I can't fault them for doing it since it would benefit so few customers.

Sounds from the review like EVGA really came up short on this board. He wasn't exactly pleased with it. Between the board seemingly way overpriced, and the locked Xeons, it doesn't sound like this board will sell that well ('well' as in "well for the super high-end

This board would be alright for video encoding or whatever, but is rather pointless for a gaming rig. People will buy it and game slower than a high-end single CPU gaming rig just to say "I have two physical CPU's" just like what happened with the SR-2.

SR-2s with 4+ ghz hex cores were pretty common and would run games great. With the fastest (in terms of clock speed) SR-X compatible Xeon being a quad core E5-2643 at 3.3, I'd be inclined to think that the SR-2 is better for gaming than the SR-X.
