I'm going to bring up a point that was lost a little bit back.

Why not buy caffeine pills?

You can buy 100 200mg pills for $5.50 , which at one a day would last more than twice as long at double the dosage.

Is BLAST faster acting, or is it more expensive because it is easier to regulate the amount taken?

Just ordered some! Maybe that will keep me awake during my 12 hour shifts at work!

In my experience, tablets are slow acting, a drink or powder directly absorbed through the skin will always act faster. A tablet needs to break down, and that takes time.

For me it is the fact that Blast! is pure 100% caffeine. The pills have "Other Ingredients: Stearic Acid, Cellulose Gum, Silica, Magnesium Stearate". I'm not saying I'm a hippy, but I'd rather have pure caffeine than caffeine and the other crap.

Here are some reasons that I can think of:

  • There are other ingredients in the pills in addition to the caffeine that may or may not be safe.   When all I want is the caffeine, why do I have to ingest other ingredients along with it?
  • The caffeine itself may or may not be organic.  Blast Caffeine Powder is 100% organic.
  • The caffeine itself may or may not be pharmaceutical-grade.  Blast is.
  • For me, I can't take any pill without a liquid to swallow it down.  With Blast Caffeine Powder, I just shake some onto my palm and lick it up (I prefer to actually see exactly how much I am consuming).
  • Once swallowed, pills take a while to begin working.  With the way I take Blast Caffeine Powder, I feel it within about 5 or 10 seconds instead of minutes!  I love that!  However, if I add this powder to anything that I eat or drink, then it will take about 10-20 minutes to begin working.  Worse than that, it's too gradual and it makes me want to take more.  Not good.
  • Due to not needing a liquid to swallow Blast Caffeine Powder, I can take it anywhere, anytime.
  • Pills can come in a bottle that is too big to take with you.  Blast Caffeine Powder comes in a small dispenser that is about the size of a Zippo lighter (slightly taller)
  • Pills that are in a plastic bottle make noise.  I can silently carry Blast Caffeine Powder with me if I need to.  I like that.
  • Pills would have to be cut up with a pill slicer in order to adjust the dosage.  With Blast Caffeine Powder, I don't have to worry about that at all.
  • Sometimes pills get stuck in my throat, even the small ones.

So while a caffeine pill like NoDoz contains 200mg, I see too many negatives.  Blast Caffeine has none of those negatives and has many positives that can't be had with pills.

Really though, it's entirely up to you and what feels right to you.  For me, I would much rather have Blast Caffeine powder because of all these things, but especially because it's 100% organic and pharmaceutical grade.  No other caffeine product can beat that for me.

Finally, that bottle of caffeine pills is $10.72 after shipping.

Heh, for you guys that like a quick blast check this stuff out. http://www.aeroshots.com/ I originally randomly found this site by accident as the guy who created this stuff is a tenure Harvard Professor and besides the inhaleable caffeine, there's other things like chocolate which is just quite odd. Anyway when it was first being brought to market I signed up and got sent a sample of a few of them, didn't do too much although there's only 100mg of caffeine in the inhaler. Also as I was just looking up the website as I could not remember it, it appears the FDA is pushing to get this stuff off shelves and has been banned in several states already, cant imagine why smile.gif

Nah, I'll pass. Blast still sounds superior to me.  Plus, it looks like these Aeroshots cost about as much as 5-hour Energy per shot.
