Wrong model on ram memories.

Thread Starter
I have a computer with a Asus Sabertooth Z77 in it. I bought DDR3 ram to it that i thought would fit CML8GX3M2A1866C9R but i get BlueScreens everyday.

The three most common is
MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
BAD_POOL_HEADER

So after looking in the manual. I don't find the ram supported by the motherboard. I just ordered CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9 that is supported. at least by the manual.

I just want to make sure. Is it only the ram that causes the crashes?

hardware
Asus Sabertooth Z77
AMD Radeon™ HD 6770 Graphics
Intel Core i7 2600 Sandy Bridge
Corsair CML8GX3M2A1866C9R Vengeance LP
Gigabit PCI Express Network Adapter TG-3468

99.9% of memory problems can be solved with proper BIOS settings.
Or you can keep buying different memory until you find some that works.

As an aside, memory manufacture frequently and arbitrarily change the components that they use to build modules (price and supply).. While the limited specs they publish may indicate the memory is unchanged, many of the unpublished parameters do change (even though the model numbers are the same).

I would have said if everything is at stock that's bad ramz, RMA time. Check the sticks with memtest, one at a time.
