How do you sleeve without heatshirnk?

I've tried the lighter and rolling the molten part, but it burns my hand really bad even with gloves on. Is there any other way? If there isn't which heat shrink should I buy?

Zipties but it looks like crap.

Just get the 3-1 heat shrink (has a shrink ratio of 3-1)

Well, I can probably endure the burns and actually roll them, but my biggest problem is getting the pins to go back inside. No matter how hard i push, it doesn't go in.

Let it cool for a couple extra seconds and then try the compress method, basically pinch it a little and then let go pinch a little and let go. The rolling method is totally not needed and only burns your fingers as you are trying to form the molten sleeve too much.

Also make sure your are not melting too much of the sleeve, you only need to melt a small bit of it - (just enough to cover the first crimp or where the wire meets the pin) This way it will fit right in. if you get any of the melted sleeve on the front part of the pin it will not latch.

I should have a video up extremely soon as I am in the process of unpacking my mod room right now. thumb.gif
