[MCV] EA Origin: 'Our aim is to be a better version of Steam' - Page 30

This is unrealistic, childish, naive and extremely biased.

Why is everyone flipping out over EA hosting their own exclusive titles?

I don't see anyone demanding that Valve host their exclusive titles on other software packages other than Steam.

You can't have it both ways. Either you're fine with any company hosting their own exclusives or you're not fine with it.

Why should EA give up their exclusives when you're not demanding that other companies follow suit? Why should EA support their competitors software when you clearly don't expect a competitor to return the favour?

Did you even think about the consequence of your statement before posting?

In b4 the tirade of 'we don't want multiple games libraries and Steam was here first.' Grow up.

i dont care for origins approach to install, having to put a crap addon to my browser then also allow a service to run, then allow a client exe to run is task bar.

all with less then full functionality. i will not be putting orgins (TROJAN approach) software back on my computer. had fun with bf3 while i did but i dont care for how much it stresses my machine and how i still need more power to run the game.

to be honest i feel they could have optimized it more for lower specs. i feel my 460 2win is great card but still cant run at level that i would accept as playable 100fps or so.

there are many aspects of the origin i dont accept, first if its an addon to a browser and has a security flaw it can allow acces to machine that is not granted .
you cannot control the acces orgin has to profile your computer and personal info
you cannot opt out of anything whatsoever
you have to install a full install ever time there is an update
there is no access to extended information or to clear cached data or collected data
i could list alot more but whatevs

hope they change the way they treat their customers privacy and the way they are invasive to security and privacy.

Stop assuming and grow up.

You miss understand, my evidence is irrefutable and no assumptions were made.

1. You use and praise Steam, yet they disallow their exclusives to be purchased via other online mediums.

2. You refuse to use and attack Origin stating that if they shared their exclusives with Steam, you would use the program. Indicating that this is a major factor in you not using the program.

You are explicitly demanding one thing from one download manager whilst saying it is perfectly acceptable that another does not do the same thing.

This is bias, this is childish, this is most certainly hypocritical and most of all this is not an assumption.

Nice try though.

I use and love steam, I would like BF3 on steam, but I would not care if valve games were on Origin.

See how you are assuming.
meh, i'm relatively indifferent to them, at this point. I feel like steam has its ups and downs but nothing so bad that i would forego playing mah games for.

Origin is essentially the same... albeit, they do not seem to have NEAR the deals that Steam does, but i suppose its only a matter of time.

Now... i certainly imagine that more companies are going to try to carve a piece of this market out, for themselves... when we start having to manage 4/5/6 various game libraries, that will be irritating...

Wasn't aware my name was Gabe Newell, and that I alone had the choice to prevent games from being on Origin.

-blah blah more childish attacks-

I'm not using Origin for a number of reasons, that being one of... hundreds? Like I said earlier, I wouldn't care if Valve sold their games on Origin. I also don't praise Steam, I use it because it's the road we've chosen as gamers. If I could still play WON Half-Life and buy nothing but retail games, I would.

Keep assuming, EAbro.
