Kit Recomendations OR go DIY?

So i'm all VERY new to water cooling.hmmsmiley02.gif

My current setup is an intel 2600k with an AMD 6870 in a BitFenix Survivor case and i'd like to give watercooling a go. I've been taking a look at some out of the box kits (Mainly EK-KIT H3O 360 LTX) but they only ever have a CPU water block, nothing for my 6870. If I purchase an out of the box kit, will it be able to handle an extra VGA block in the loop?

That leads me to the question, should I got for a kit OR take the plunge and go DIY? What would you guy's recomend?

I think all those kits have a 240 radiator. If so that is not enough to cool a CPU and GPU.

I recommend a DIY loop. Take you time buy the components and do it right. You custom built your PC why not do the same on your loop?

Kits are of course a good place to start.
You could base your own loop on a kit and change some parts as you go along.

However I've heard a lot of very good things about the XSPC RX360 kit.

Edit:

I've decided this is what I'm going to go with:

Will this work together well? Any Suggestions?

The above is right about the xspc kits , go custom right away otherwise its a waste of money ( not saying the pre-made kits dont work ) I started with a sealed cpu loop an H100 and 3 weeks later I wanted to go all out water , with an xspc kit you choose rad size and thickness , bay reservoir or tube , fittings tubing etc and the price is decent to start , it comes with everything you need to run a loop for the CPU , after that if you want to add your graphics cards or anything its just adding on, I was just dissapointed because I spent 100$ on an H100 and stopped using it within a month.

something like this , I really like the RX radiator however because they are thicker and you can run your fans quieter but you need to know if it fits !

So my above setup should cool my CPU and GPU Adequately?

I Plan on doing some OC'ing so I want to get this right biggrin.gif

Have you considered a full cover block for you GPU? Assuming that your GPU is referenced design http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=30415.
Also you might want to change the coolant to Mayhems ones, they are top notch stuff! thumb.gif http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=59_381_1071_915 or Dye:
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=59_381_1071_1072 with distilled water (from you local supermarket etc)

As for the kit, go with this one. You will be less likely to upgrade in the future due to better pump, better CPU block and compression fittings. http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_202_972&products_id=33590
But if you're on a budget then the kit you listed is fine, although people have been reporting pump problems with that included pump/res.

I never use special coolants because I dont like cleaning junk out of my blocks , I only use distilled water with a killcoil in it, hes right about the full cover block , especially if you plan on overclocking the graphics card as well, a GPU block like the one you selected only covers the actual gpu and not volt regs or anything else on the block which get really hot especially if you overclock and now they would not have any cooling left since the fan is gone.

I would suggest going custom an take the few weeks to read up on stuff for "getting it right".

As far as coolants go .. well .. distilled is the best ofc, I would avoid dye's if possible. However, if you want red go with mixture of distilled and red antifreeze (intended for cars with aluminium parts in their engines) as an added bonus its even UV active.
237
This is 1/3 distilled and 2/3 red antifreze (which is in turn itself mixture of ~50% distilled and ~50% monoethylene glycerol + anticorrosive additives). Going with antifreeze lets you escape using silver coil or nuke as well as its already pretty toxic. As a downside your coolant does lose a bit of its heat transfer capacity as water is one of the best ones.
