So I'm sick of storms frying my stuff. $30 max budget I hope, needs ethernet surge protection as well. Suggestions?

Would this work okay?

Something decent with Ethernet will probably break your budget. May I suggest http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812107196 though.

Put your modem though the surge protector and it should protect all Ethernet devices. (The power cable + Coaxial / Phone)

I don't see the ethernet on that one? I def NEED ethernet protection as well. Some users report it has it, some don't?

Would that one work?

Well this is going to be in my room, so it won't be going through the modem. Just an ethernet cord, then to my computer.

Well, it may be beyond your budget, but IMO these are some of the best ones out there for the money.

http://www.l-com.com/content/Data_Line_Protector_Comparison.html

This one will cover a single port, and is $35, just a little out of your listed price.

Check your ground on the power outlets around the house.

As for the one I linked, I was saying run the coaxial or phone line through it before the modem and have the modem get power from it. Should stop any surges and then no need for Ethernet surge protectors (I believe this is how it should work). Correct me if this wouldn't actually protect anything. I'm not sure if you could just put it on the inbound connections to the modem.

I did end up ordering that one. But I can't have it set up that way. My computer is across the house, and the router/modem is other side of the house. I need both my computer/electronics/ethernet cord to my computer on the surge protector.
I can do that if this is set in my room though. Great product suggestion though! Was $20 on Amazon.
