Hey there,
I am going to be building a new system soon. I need to choose a motherboard.

The planned rig:

CPU: i5 3570k - 214.50 €
PSU: OCZ ZT 750 - 87.30 €
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - 33.44 €
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-222BB - 14.10 €
RAM: CORSAIR DDR3 8GB 1600MHz CL9 - 51.51 €
Case: Corsair Carbide 300R - 62.74 €
GPU: Gigabyte Windforce x3 GTX 670 - 378.10€

Total: 841.69 €
Money to spend on motherboard: less than 158.31 €

I was thinking about the MSI Z77A-GD55, ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 and the Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H. Which is the best for the money?

From this list, gigabyte UD3 is the best, also you can take a look on ASUS p8z77-v

The Asus P8Z77-V is over my budget.

But is the UD3H really worth all the extra cash over the ASrock Z77 Extr.4? What makes it better?

What about the D3H motherboard? How does that compare with the rest?

ASRock or Gigabyte ...both are great. hard to pick...check slot placements and see which one will give your gfx card more ventilation. besides that, some say giga has slightly better quality...tho i do think asrock has slightly better reviews overall on newegg...its a toss up.

Gigabyte has best VRM out of those. Asrock claims it is digital, but it is not as some people state. It does not matter really until you OC and at some point GB may offer better stability.

Z77X-D3H vs Z77x-UD3H differ only with double copper used if I am not mistaken.

Also D3h has no debug LED, no power/reset/clear cmos buttons, 1 less fan header, and 4 pin cpu power... but adds 2 extra SATA 3.0 marvell based.

At some point, my Asrock Z77 E4 PCB thickness is somewhat scary for some cases like mine (CM HAF XM) got bigger space for ease in access of HSF or Water cooling, board seemed to be bend excessively that requires me to support back of PCB when installing some component (RAM, VGA .. etc).. In reality you don't want to install and re-install components for long term( so just be careful). I haven't seen in actual for Gigabyte Z77a UD3H(Thicker copper layers) and MSI though I'm thinking of replacing mine.tongue.gif

The asrock definately has more features for the buck I would go with that but the gigabyte would definately win as far as quality, msi makes good stuff but they always seem to charge more money than the competition & for less features. each of the boards will do the same things for you it just comes down to the amount of features they have and asrock wins by far with 8 sata ports 4 at 6gbs & at 3gbs. also consider the msi because of the extra heatsink that gigabyte is lacking. So in short go with the asrock!thumb.gif
